a moment when I actually chose this?

Mon Aug 18, 2008, 5:38 PM
So when the last holiday weekend at camp fails, everyone ends up irritated and irritable... =_=. Yay. Reminder to myself to choose my company wisely before travelling. This weekened sucked.. even though there was beaches and sunshine and 20-degree weather.. >_> I had no time to myself, didn't even get a chance to read a single chapter of Fugitive Pieces while lying undisturbed in a hammock under a canopy of midday glittering trees... I spent most of it running around waiting for the tag-alongs who kept disappearing and not telling us where they'd be and when, even though they they'd finally end up at some random person's drunken bush party. Wow. Fun stuff.

Alas, such is summer..

After all the running around, working out of province, working without stopping to meditate the colour dust coming off old bottles of imported beer, the touring through mountains and rivers on horseback and sleeping in stranger beds, looking out at snowy peaks christened by a softly focused rainbow, looking out at lights of sleepless cities, looking in at a sleeping intellect stirred by museum shows of the wise, worldly dragons..

I am glad to head back to university. =_= I need a holiday from summer holidays, which always seem to turn out more complicated than the part where I study for 8 months and then write exams. That part is usually quiet... but the reckless romping around and colliding of people I knew with people I wish I didn't know.. is something I can only take for a few months at a time.

So... Cheers for the arrival of September, just in time, as always. Time for books, books, glorious books, and painting and photographs and poetry. I can hardly contain myself :D My soul needs peace.
